I got one thing right. In Walt Disney’s Fantasia 1940’s collection included the “Sorcerer’s Apprentice”. Mickey Mouse splits a broom in two when the boss is out and the broom multiplies. Mayhem ensues.
Sometimes it’s hard to remember the details, but something affecting you so much, gets lodged in your memory bank. That was the case here when the title “Sorcerer’s Apprentice” popped up. Of course!
Maybe I had that dream because I’m in shred and toss mode. (?). Going through a pile of old statements right next to the shredder, I did find 4 worthy of filing/saving. Shredder equals broom.
I ordered a picture frame for my University diploma (didn’t shred that). When it arrives, I don’t know where I’ll put it. Wall space is covered with original art. At least the diploma will be protected. The degree is in Dance. Brockport, the college, was one of two places in the country at the time, 1971, that offered a college degree in Dance. The other was Mills in Oakland, Ca. I had a NY Regents Scholarship, so back to New York State. Personally, I didn’t care about a college degree. That’s what Mom and Dad wanted. I would have preferred to go straight to NYC and become part of the burgeoning modern dance movement. The good part of Brockport was because of its proximity to NYC, we had visiting teachers who were cutting edge. I was highly encouraged by their taking me aside with praise. To me, inspiration comes from the heart. Movement helped me find it.
