That’s what I call two pills that are one, a multi-vitamin and two, oyster shell calcium that I take twice a day along with the other supplements. I don’t understand why they have to be so big. My former multi-vitamin was about 1/10th the size of a finger nail. This is a pharma mystery. In any case, they are hard to swallow. Which makes a daily routine something to dread. I do choke and sneeze. Once I start sneezing, it is difficult to stop. One of my neighbors passed by when I was having a sneeze attack and wanted to know if I was OK? It’s that loud. And uncomfortable. I tried cutting them in half, which left rough edges and equally irritating. Sorry to grouse.
Which leads me to other, more pleasant horse related things. Not a horse, but a donkey. I just finished reading ‘Smart Ass’ by Margaret Winslow. Caleb, the donkey, has an independent personality. Stubborn, in a word. Adopted at the age of five, apparently donkeys don’t mature until about ten. So Margie, the author, has her hands and everything else full. She lives in NYC, a professor and she had a donkey stuffed animal as a child. One day she comes across an ad for this donkey in Upstate NY. Any bystander could have told her this is not a good formula. However, her husband is away for an extended period and Margie bites the bullet, err, donkey bites her. That’s the premise. The rest of the book is about all the things she learns. It’s a bumpy ride. There are photos throughout and you can see why she was ‘taken’ with Caleb. He’s all white, with large ears – sort of homely/cute. Appetite is not a problem. I doubt he would have a problem with ‘Horse pills’.
Onto other topics. I bought a toaster today! My old one fizzled about a year and a half ago. Since then, I’ve been using the oven. Not as efficient. There are SOOO many toasters to choose from. And with the one I chose at least, they don’t give dimensions. It just said, “Fits Anywhere”. (What are the options?) It holds two slices of toast or halves of bagel. And it’s red! When I’m waking up I won’t lose it between the sink and the blender. Come to think of it, the blender may have to find a place in the cabinets to make room, since that’s not used every day.
Inspired by ‘Smart Ass’, with its photos, I’ll ask my techie helper how to put photos on this site.
