I called Dick’s record store, Rooky Ricardo’s on Haight, SF, to find out about any memorial planned for Dick? No, he didn’t want that. What they are in the early stages of planning is a block party around Christmas time. I gave them my contact info. Also, they may be able to transfer all the TV20 Dance Party tapes from VHS (bless you Dad) to a format compatible with the internet. The other question, which I forgot to ask, they would need to be edited.
An entirely different topic: Lourdes is back from San Sebastián. She says she wants to move back. Gentility and communal feelings She hasn’t felt here in SF. She’s good at giving advise to me, But I wonder if she will move back? At the end of the call, she was off to Aquatic Park to swim. Her talents as a translator wouldn’t be as needed there. Time will tell.
One thing that has been gratifying, in the aftermath of Dick’s death and my sadness, is how much our dance work together (and I) meant to him. I hear this from all sources. So, I’m not delusional. That much fun is indelible.
