Louisa May Alcott

Now that my eyes are fixed, I’m enjoying reading again. I have an old copy of “Eight Cousins” by Louisa May Alcott, published 1891. It belonged to either Mom or possibly grandmother. There is a sequel called “Rose in Bloom”. The SFPL has Books by mail and I received the anthology. Now I can find out what happened to Rose.

Aimee called for our weekly chat. Her NYC building is being renovated. This means her windows will be covered with a see-through tarp, no air conditioning for a year. Aimee does have a sister in New Jersey, but I doubt she will stay there for a whole year.

Living in SF, there is no need for air conditioning. When John and I were in Tennessee, it was essential. And the bills were high.

Well, back to “Rose in Bloom” with minestrone soup. That sounds cozy.
