Libras

The zodiac sign Libra translates to the scales. Not an animal as in other signs. That would indicate that Libras are ‘balanced’. What is balanced? Add a feather and the scale tips to one side.

My mother was an early believer in Planned Parenthood. Both my sisters are Virgos. My fetus decided to remain in the womb until late September. That messed up Mom’s plan. Changed my astrological sign. And possibly altered my perspective.

I admire my sisters for their ability to make decisions quickly. I tend to weigh the options. That takes more time. Mom would say, “You were late being born and you’ve been late ever since”. Agreed. I’ve gotten better At punctuality. I still think decisions require assessment. Which brings up what’s objective vs. subjective? An objective judgement is still based on the person making it. People are subjective by nature.

Take the Supreme Court, for example. The judges are appointed by one person who is subjective. So, then where is fairness? The scales of justice are challenged to find equilibrium.
