Mystery Tea

Lots of mysterious things lately. Now I am confronted with what tea I’m about to drink. It’s steeping. It is from a tin I’ve had so long, the handwriting has faded. It smells like red plums and vanilla. It’s good, light.

I’ve been instructed not to eat anything after midnight tonight before tomorrow’s eye surgery. I had a telephone interview today to check on what meds I currently take. Same as last time. I’ve decided not to take any this evening or tomorrow before the surgical slice. Eye drops, of course. And I will have some vanilla ice cream with raspberry dark chocolate around 10:30pm with more plum tea.

I’m hoping all goes according to plan. I also hope the procedure is a success and I can enjoy seven years (their estimate) of unimpaired vision. That would be a blessing.

I stopped drinking coffee about 15 years ago. No particular reason, just lost the taste for it. To me, it’s strong and oily. Tea comes in so many delicate flavors. I’ve mentioned Mariage Freres Tea Company in Paris, which is a tea connoisseur’s dream. This website is named after Elephante Blanche, my favorite of all the Mariage Freres’ teas. To be honest, I haven’t tried them all. Perhaps there is one lurking beyond my, as yet, experience. If I find it, I’ll have to rename this site.

Almost ice cream time…..
