Eye drops for the future

Yep. For Wednesday surgery. Not exciting, but I have to space the three small bottles out and remember. Four times a day. Almost forgot the last triple dose.

So, I’ve been thinking about how having perfect vision will impact things. Hard to image. One thought is to take an online typing course. As is, I’m a little faster than ‘hunt and peck’, but I have to look at the keyboard. Except for taking the course, that’s not about vision, unless freeing up one use of vision is.

Regarding the freeing up of mental space, when you do so, does that allot space to another task? OK, say I learn to type 70 words a minute. I don’t put my writing thoughts together that fast. I start out with an idea of where to go, but the creativity happens in the process. Like when you make up a dance. You are working with time, mood, synergy, sound, range of motion, figure(s) shape, grace. The translation to writing or painting is similar, I think. Starting from a dance background, I have written pieces for oral performance. There is the presentation in time. Then feedback plays a role, but that is at the other end of an act’s instigation. What are the circumstances that come together to birth a creative act? I suppose there is no answer because possibilities are limitless.

I’ve been sitting on an idea to write about my Mexican facelift. That will be the title. The true story involves an array of experiences: cultural, practical, ramifications, result. Bottom line: would I do it again? No, but I’m glad I did it.

Just watched part of a series called Call my Agent, about a French actors’ agency. It is pretty funny playing with egos, ambitions and personal politics. And it is very French. The show has subtitles, which help. Since it’s about acting, you can take your eyes off the action and make sure you ‘got it right’ with the subtitles. Fun. Back to vision.
