Some days it’s better to put off the to-dos

Today was such a day. I checked with the credit card people before I headed out. They gave me the green light. And then nothing was approved. This made me mad, the waste of time and inconvenience and the taxi trips. I was sweating to see if the card went through for the taxis.

Friday I have to repeat the process. This time I should fare better, since it is the first of the month (May flowers) and my SS should arrive. But God knows I will double check that and pray the bank does not misinform and decline my intentions once again.

Hopefully that all works. I have a rendezvous-vous with Karen Hildebrand at the Rite Spot. So, at the very least, I need to withdraw money for that. If, and only if, things do work out with the Sweepstakes, that will change a lot of things. I’ll be able to order a bottle of champagne for one. As it will be a celebration. The financial windfall could not happen at a better time. Otherwise I’ll plod along.

Karen is an interesting person. She’s a poet and has started up being a Dance Critic. That’s how we hit it off when we met at Brian’s Salon. Our meeting conversation was intense because we had so much to talk about. Our Friday dinner will be after she sees a rehearsal for ODC. She invited me to join her to see the open rehearsal. I declined which was a good thing with all that’s going on tomorrow. ODC does good work and their company has a new generation of dancers since I saw them. I’m sure Karen and I will have lots to talk about.
