You are what you eat. In that spirit, I cook with fresh ingredients, mostly veggies, add some fresh fish. Yogurt and berries, and desert of ice cream, dark chocolate and a cookie.
That said, I cleaned out the fridge today. Lots of very gone vegetables. Originally, rinsed and zip-locked, then never consumed. Fortunately, Nick took out that trash. Then I got to the cheese drawer. Oooo boy, stinky! Well packaged, they just don’t last interminably. Sayonara. Nick is 21. He will announce truths that are new to him. He told me he didn’t like the time change, as he rehung my wall clocks. Did I know they don’t do it in Hawaii? Me: yes, agreeing all along. And Arizona, I added. Maybe I can convince him to vote.
Settling in for Netflix, I watched “It Takes a Village”. This was a folksy, Scandinavian film that had nothing to do with Hilary Clinton. Not too challenging and lots of goats.
Next up, I watched “The Price of Family”. I don’t recommend it. The premise was a couple wants their adult children’s attention, so they fib and tell the kids they’ve won 6 million (euros in this case). It’s all about greed based on a lie. Thumbs down.
I have an appointment tomorrow for grief counseling by zoom. Patti’s decision has been made. I miss Mel every day. This is deeper. Damn ALS. No, there is no fairness.
I heard that when grief makes you small, you must get bigger. I don’t feel small. Just sad.
