Lovely event

Many people showed up for Rebecca’s birthday and the Sullivan’s 50th anniversary. It was a mix of learning (for me) and deep conversations about what Project Artaud meant . Basically, we’re all in this together. Lots of double cheek kissing.

Rebecca’s daughter ,Jenya, assisted her. Rebecca’s birthday, 76. I asked about the older son, Leon. He’s teaching piano in Menlo Park, where he has lots of students from wealthy families.

Susan put out a big spread. They served Mumm champagne. Hey! Tasty.

I asked Susan about her medical problems. That turned out to be a topic of general concern. Nerve damage to her spine. After the fire, she could use clothes. I may be able to donate, looking tomorrow. OK, all agreed, I heard about everyone’s health history. I’m using a cane. I diverted that to my concern about my sister, Patti.

Then John O’Keefe came. Oh, boy. We were cordial. I asked him, having witnesses, why he was so mad at me? What I could gather is that it goes back to when his “Brontë” script was refused at Lincoln Center. My fault. (?)

While that made no sense, it gave me a start of understanding his mixed up mind. And, yes, I should let it go. One thing that’s true about John is that he’s spins on a dime.

If I could figure out his reasoning, I will put it to sleep. Good luck.
