That’s the name of the Netflix series I started. But first I have to say that Nick came over today in place of his mom, Myra. While he was here he showed me how to make voice recordings on this iPad. And my new respect for AI because it spelled out the steps to take. I just didn’t know where to look. This is for audiobooks narrator jobs. Now I need to select two different book passages to rehearse, then record.
Back to “From Scratch”. I picked this one because I was about to eat dinner and it’s fun to watch a cooking show and sort of join in. For dinner today, I made a recipe from the latest Bon Appetit magazine. It was Brussels sprouts with Parmesan and I had everything including the parchment paper for baking. They came out great!
“From Scratch” is set in Los Angeles, but starts out in Florence. The woman is a foreign exchange student in Art. And the man she falls for is a chef at the beginning of his career. When her semester is over, she goes back to L.A. and he follows to start his own restaurant. By this time, I’ve finished dinner. Like all series, it goes on and on. Just as his new restaurant is opening, he gets a rare cancer in his knee. She is working in a high end gallery, which frustrates her because she has no time for making her own art and she wants to be a mother. (His thick Italian hair grows in remarkably fast after chemo). So, they adopt a new-born girl. His Italian parents come over from Italy to be with their son, causing some emotional friction, then reconciliation between father and son.
Gotta go see if they can get the baby to stop crying…..
