I take 11 supplements, which I have on a spinning lazy Susan, the only fun thing about it. I line them up early and by the time I take them after dinner, I don’t have to think about it. Today I wisely waited until a couple were refilled at the pharmacy. The doc told me not to take one (good) and then it was a matter of getting rid of the old (blacking out bottle details because our dumpster has been known for ID theft) and checking all the rest. Done.
Tonight’s Netflix movie was NYAD, starring Annette Bening and Jodie Foster. It’s about a woman (NYAD) played by Bening, who swims the channel between Cuba and Florida. That’s 103 miles. Even as a teen with my almost Jr. Life Saving certificate (I was one week short and the family went on vacation), I doubt I could swim one mile non-stop. And they say they don’t make good roles for older women. This one was great, although the physical training to prepare for the role must have been intense. I don’t know how old Annette Bening was at the time of filming, but NYAD was 61. Jodie Foster played her coach and all she had to do, physically, was jump in the water when she thought NYAD wasn’t going to make her fourth try. You can guess how it ends. Here’s a clue: I found myself smiling.
Now that my eyesight is better, I’m seeing things I missed before. Like cobwebs under the chair legs near my ballet barre, when I’m bending far over. Those spiders have been busy. I only saw one, which I smashed and felt guilty about doing so. If he had lived, he would be deprived of seeing his handiwork. R.I.P. spiders and cobwebs.
