Wouldn’t it be nice if you could? Describe what you need or point to a catalog, make a payment and get the results in the mail.
Oh no, you must present your body in person. It’s not a specimen. Your practitioner is years out of medical school. Add a few more years with a specialty.
My first stop this morning was with my cardiologist, Devin Marar. A return visit for sure. I had a heart valve replaced last January. I’m good. Blood pressure, everything. He sent me to get lab work on the first floor of same building. The nurse said I could just walk there (meaning same location). I said, I think I’ll take the elevator. Dr. Marar is on the eighth floor.
Getting my pre-arranged cab home became a “Laurel and Hardy”comedy, if you can laugh about communicating with a robot.
I did get home, with time for lunch and flossing before going to a new dentist. Dr. Nil Yucel, DDS was/is quite capable and accomplished. What I thought would be establishing me as a new patient and a tooth cleaning became very comprehensive. Part way through the 2 and a half hour exam, I needed to use the restroom. In this building, the men’s and women’s restrooms are on alternate floors. I past a man going to his and noted, they separate us by floors. He agreed. I could manage today’s co-pay, but the projected work to be done will be expensive. Monday I’ll contact my insurance people and ask about a plan that would cover more of it. Or shop for a new company. I think it’s open enrollment, which would be helpful. I’ve been approached before about switching. I had no idea this dental circumstance would arise. You never know what’s around the corner….
Ho hum….
