The photo adjacent to this is of threes shoes out of twenty that I can no longer wear. The three are Fendi (leopard), Marc Jacobs (blue and white) and unknown designer from Spain. I can’t bear to throw them away. The orthopedic doctor sentenced me to orthotics. No going back. It’s a dilemma. I’ll wait for the disappointment to pass before I take action.
I was immediately confronted with the problem when I thought about what to wear for my solo birthday lunch tomorrow. All my friends are out of town. I’m determined to go get oysters and a Caesar salad.
My NY friend Aimee called and sung me “Happy Birthday”. Holding a tune is not her forte. But very sweet. She just got back from Poland, which was a difficult trip. Her friend is very sick and foul. She lost her cell phone – a true travel’s disaster. Anyway, she got home safely.
As far as birthday songs go, Connie sang me a Mexican Spanish version to a melody I had never heard. It was charming! I don’t know what the difference is between Mexican and Spanish Spanish? Whatever, I loved it!
You know the Birthday song is ubiquitous. International in fact. Some PBS program had children singing it from countries afar. And global.
Well, I’ll get into the crocs and enjoy my lunch. There’s a place across the street from the restaurant that sells my favorite tea, Mariage Freres Elephante Blanche (what I named this blog for). Hopefully they have it in stock….
