Under the bridge

Not sure how well my typing will be here. I have a big patch over my right eye and it’s hard to see. But the surgery part is over. Also, it was nice to have something to eat after the fast.

My ride which I scheduled a week in advance showed up on time. I was ready with exact change, $2.85. Paratransit came through.

I arrived super early and had a lot of down time after the eye was dilated and before the anesthesiologist came. I wish they had given me more on the numbing side of things. The operation lasted about an hour and I could feel the scraping on my retina. Not hugely painful, but did we need it?

Myra was there to pick me up and it was great to get home. Myra went out and got hot and sour soup with egg rolls. Yum! and snooze.

Tomorrow is the follow up at Dr. Calman’s office. Having the itchy bandage removed will be a relief. The post-op directions point out that it takes up to 6 days to heal – that is before the vision is normal. Shooff!
