I had to look up what it was. Yuck! You need a computer to write for you? I can see spell check. But sometimes even spell check misses the concept and replaces the word I want with a word that is vaguely spelled the same, but destroys the meaning of the sentence.

Now, sometimes when I’m reading fast, I’ll read the wrong word in place of the printed (correct) word. Causing me to stop, go back and get the author’s intent. It can even be funny. I’ll make a note and share the next time that happens. And it can be good to slow down. I’m not facing an exam.

I’m going to apply to be a narrator for audio books. My theater background is a large part of my resume. The only problem I foresee is that I am fussy about what I read. If I don’t like the writing style, I’ll put the book down and eventually give it away.

I ran into the daughter of a neighbor who has Parkinson’s today. Her friend walking with her responded to my name, Bijou, and said she liked my ‘bijoux’, referring to my rings. I replied in French, “Merci bien.” Then Rebecca’s (the Parkinson’s lady) daughter told me Rebecca was trying to learn French. I told her I would love to get together with her and help. Which is true. Rebecca is very sweet. And language learning is a great way to exercise lots of cognitive skills. So, now, I’ll select some basic French books to get started. Teaching will also benefit and refresh my knowledge. I’m looking forward to it. We’ll see what her tolerance, time wise, is.
