   Doodling with this newish site. Newish because I had one in Paris. Same title, Elephante Blanche, which means ‘White elephant’. In both senses. A garage sale find and the name of my favorite tea (thank you, Mariage Freres).
   I would get back to my 11ieme rental in Paris, 5 floor walk up, hoisting university books and groceries. In the winter, quite cold, the lights often went out, and I’d end up crawling in my long coat. I laugh, thinking about it.
   Ten years later, I am snug in my SF space. Apartment is not the right word. With 16 foot ceiling and a 20 foot wall of windows, it is spacious. Compared to the 300 sq.ft. Parisian abode. In Paris the rent I paid was equal to what I pay ere. A good, overall, deal.
   More to tell. First, let’s see if this works….
