My mother (now in Heaven) went to a lot of garage sales. She had a good eye and collected. I now have some of her ‘finds’. One is this crazy tall vase that is half Japanese on one side and floral on the other, with handles that are lions heads on top and fins on the bottom. Totally weird and I love it. This vase, if that’s what it was intended for, integrates cultures and the animal world.

I just watched Antiques Road Show. I thought if the show came to SF and I took it, it’d probably be worth $2. Which I imagine is about what she paid for it. It is so odd. And it fits right in.
